Lactalis Canada Announces Appointment of Stephane Chatel as Vice President, Quality Assurance

April 6, 2022 – Toronto, ON – Lactalis Canada, the Canadian dairy leader behind iconic brands like Cracker Barrel, Black Diamond, Balderson, Astro and Lactantia and a subsidiary of France-based Lactalis Group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephane Chatel to the position of Vice President, Quality Assurance, effective April 4, 2022. In this position, Stephane will oversee the planning, management and execution of all quality management, quality control and food safety activities within Lactalis Canada.

Stephane Chatel brings over 30 years of food industry experience in Quality, Food Safety, Research & Development to Lactalis Canada. In Canada, Stephane most recently served as Vice President of Quality & Food Safety for Weston Foods, Fresh, Ambient, and Frozen Baked Goods business. Prior to this, Stephane held the position of Vice-President Quality, Food Safety & Crisis Management for the Dairy and Plant-based business of Danone Canada. Stephane formerly spent over 20 years working for Danone in France and held multiple progressive roles over his tenure, including but not limited to Corporate Quality in Design Senior Manager, Plant Quality, Food Safety & Environmental Director, Project Quality & Packaging R&D Director and Manufacturing Quality Director.

Stephane Chatel replaces Lactalis Canada’s current Vice President of Quality Assurance Jennifer Boyles who will retire in May 2022.
